This year the Sawtooth Races will return to a traditional format. We will have a 10K classical technique event, followed by a 20K freestyle event.  Both will be run on a 10K loop utilizing intermediate level Pincushion Mountain trails.

There will be a self-seeded mass start at 10:00 am for all 10K classical racers and another mass start at 11:00 am for the 20K freestyle racers. Separate awards will be given for the 10K classical and for the 20K freestyle events.  Junior skiers are encouraged to enter the 10K event.

Youth Races

We are also conducting a youth ski race for boys and girls ages 13 and under at 1:00 pm.  This will be a
classical technique event with age appropriate distances for two-year age groups.  So bring the whole family and all can race!

Registration

Advance registration is appreciated and encouraged.  However, skiers may register and pick up race packets on the day of the race.  Registration and/or packet pick up will be from 6 pm - 8 pm Saturday night at the Cook County Community Center (note the location—directions under Pasta Feed info).  Late
comers can pick up packets or register on Sunday morning 8 am - 9 am at the Pincushion warming chalet (race start area).  The lighted trail will be open on
Saturday night until 10 pm! However, the remainder of the course will close for race prep at 5 pm on Saturday.

 Pasta Fee d and Awards

The Cook County Youth Ski League will sponsor a pasta feed on Saturday night from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Cook County Community Center to help skiers and spectators replenish energy stores for the Sunday races. The
Community Center is just 1/2 block west of the high school. Look for the hockey rink!

Awards will be presented at the Pincushion warming building immediately following each race.
